History:

The Martini’s exact origins are hotly debated, but by the early 1900s it had become the signature cocktail of American bars. The “dirty” version — made with a splash of olive brine — is often credited to New York bartender John O’Connor, who is said to have muddled olives into the drink around 1901, and it was a favorite of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Vodka began replacing gin in the 1950s and ’60s as vodka surged in popularity across the U.S., helped along by a certain fictional British spy who preferred his shaken, not stirred. The Divine Martini follows that tradition: shaken ice cold, with just a dash of olive juice to add a savory edge without masking the clean, smooth character of Divine Clarity Vodka.
