History:
The Gimlet was born aboard British Royal Navy ships in the 19th century, when sailors were issued lime juice to prevent scurvy and officers began mixing it with their gin rations. Lauchlin Rose’s preserved lime cordial, patented in 1867, made the combination easy to stock at sea, and Rose’s remains the classic choice for the drink today. Adding fresh muddled cucumber is a modern twist that gives the Gimlet a cool, crisp finish. It’s an ideal match for ImaGINation Gin, whose fresh botanicals shine alongside the cucumber and lime.
